JUNE 22, 2008

IN SYMPATHY Please remember the family of Lona Conklin in your prayers; her funeral was conducted last week.

CONGRATULATIONS We congratulate Suto and Barbara Akpanudo on the birth of a baby boy last Monday. They have named him Kime (pronounced Kee-may) and was 8 lbs. 15 ozs. and 21 1/2 inches.

CAMP IS HERE ONCE AGAIN!!! I want to express my appreciation to this congregation for their continuous support of Northwestern Ohio Christian Youth Camp. This camp is without a doubt the highlight of the year for many young people (and adults). The camp experience is something that you really can't understand until you've been there and experienced it for yourselves. We are always encouraged as we lift our voices in praise to God, and center our minds on spiritual things. Camp provides a very unique opportunity to come away from the influences of the world for an entire week. From early morning devotionals at the fire circle to late evening devotionals we will be focusing our thoughts on God and his message to us through Jesus Christ. Our theme study this year will be FILLING THE GOD-SHAPED HOLE INSIDE ALL OF US, (The Essence of Being Human). The lessons of study will include: Monday, "Where did I come from?" Tuesday, "Why am I here?" Wednesday, "Do I have any Worth?" Thursday, "How should I live?" and the final lesson on Friday, With all the voices surrounding our youth today that take them in so many directions, they need this opportunity to let God's voice tell them again about their true worth and the price that God paid through his Son Jesus Christ. We are still two weeks away from opening day and we currently have 76 young people and 40 staff members planning to attend. I am so excited to think about what God is going to do in the lives of the young people and adults during this great week. Please remember us in prayer as we prepare for this great opportunity for God's Word to touch the hearts of everyone present. A special thanks to all of you who have donated money to help send a child to camp. There are so many who have helped by donating cereal and cookies and other things that we will need during the week. God Bless You all!

IN APPRECIATION Dear Echo Meadows Church Family, Praise God for hearing and answering your faithful prayers in regards to my double eye surgery in Ann Arbor last Friday. It is miracle what God (and good doctors too) can do when they work together. No longer seeing double after two years of waiting on hyper thyroid eyes to stabilize is wonderful!! Thank you again for your prayers, calls, and concerns. Jack Towner
